The Standing Stone Trail (SST) stretches a distance of 85 miles, connecting the Tuscarora Trail in the South to the Mid State Trail in the North. In addition to being a stand-alone foot trail, the SST is part of the Great Eastern Trail (GET).

The Standing Stone Trail runs through the heart of the ridge and valley section of the Appalachian Range. Heading northbound, the trail passes through Cowans Gap State Park, Rocky Ridge Natural Area, Greenwood Furnace State Park, Alan Seeger Natural Area and Detweiler Run Natural Area.
